SafeGard(TM) 2R Window Opening Control Device
Device that limits sash opening.
The SafeGuard™ 2R casement window opening control device complies with ASTM F2090 safety requirements for self-resetting window fall prevention and emergency escape mechanisms. The control device limits the normal sash opening to less than 101.6 mm (4 inches), while a dual-action release mechanism requires two separate, distinct, and consecutive actions to disengage the control.

ADVANTAGES & BENEFITS
Safety devices that control window openings to prevent accidental falls—while still allowing easy emergency egress—are essential in today’s building projects.
The SafeGuard™ 2R opening control device is designed for both factory and on-site installation by qualified personnel.
The arm assembly includes a decal with simple operating instructions, and the track is assembled with high-visibility plastic to assist in performing the two distinct release actions.
This product does not interfere with the daily operation or performance of the window.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Fits standard hinge cavity: 23/32 in width x 7/16 in height (nominal).
The WOCD and egress mechanism will not reduce the window’s opening area beyond what is required by applicable building codes.
The release actions for emergency egress do not require any key, tool, or special knowledge.
The WOCD automatically re-locks when the window is fully closed.
APPLICATION
The device is fully concealed after installation and when the window is closed.
It includes a built-in override mechanism with on-site adjustability and tolerance for up to 1/8 in of sash drop.
All adjustments can be easily made from the interior side of the window after installation.
Recommended mounting screws: No. 8 round head; screw length and type depend on the application.
